Wyandot Lodge is the central hub for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Outdoor Education Program. Designed to be net-zero energy, the lodge draws energy from solar panels on its roof and geothermal wells. To help cool the lodge down in the summer and create airflow, large, energy efficient fans were installed on the ceiling along with a clear story that has automated windows to let out hot air and windows down below that can be opened as well. This allows the lodge to leave a minimal impact on our climate and ecosystem. With its location along the west bank of the Scioto River, Wyandot Lodge is able to allow the Outdoor Education Program to take advantage of the natural habitat surrounding this water source and to teach the children how to have a minimal impact upon it.

Aesthetic design elements include locally sourced stone and wood that adorn the exterior facade. Including a walk-way pergola and an exterior fireplace. The interior is designed with an open air feeling with exposed wood beams the allow for ample natural light to pour in from the clear story windows.
