Replacing the exiting Polymer Chiller plant facility, the North Chiller Plant is to provide increased chilled water and condenser capacity to support future expansion of the chided water distribution system to additional campus buildings. Located to the east of the existing plant, the North Campus Chiller has an approximate footprint of 10,592-sq.ft. and is able to expand the capacity of chilled water of 10,000 tons total. Housing five water-cooled chillers, new and relocated chilled and condenser water pumps; new electrical distribution equipment and new plumbing lines throughout, the North Chiller Plant is also designed to support new roof-mounted cooling towers and an air-cooled chiller. Due to its location in the engineer and sciences quadrant of the campus, the building will put “technology on display” through the glazed base of the building.
