Formerly a CMHA public housing apartment building, this 11-story high-rise within the Short North neighborhood of Columbus was transformed into a 171-room boutique hotel with retail and restaurant spaces at ground level.

This task was made more complex by each guest room needing their own bathroom amenities. The solution to this unique challenge was to essentially cut each apartment unit in half to form the separate rooms and then from there, the ceilings were exposed to their original cement while drop down decorative features were added in order to hide the plumbing and HVAC that were added to accomplish this task. Additionally, to accommodate the retail and restaurant space on the ground level, the original courtyard that was in front of the apartment building was removed and replaced with a building that butts up to the public sidewalk allowing for maximum visibility. The building addition also allows the hotel to have conference and meeting spaces along with two rooftop patios.
