At 100,000 sq.ft. the Center for Innovation in Medical Professions is a highly collaborative space for healthcare education. Housing not only Cleveland State University’s programs for nursing and health sciences, the center is also the home for speech and hearing clinics, and student health services. Northeast Ohio Medical College, NEOMED, has also made the Center for Innovation in Medical Professions their home.

Boasting a three-story central atrium that spans the full width of the building, the Center also includes a small cafe, bridges that cross the space on two levels, classrooms, teaching and simulation labs; and shared common spaces are interspersed on all three floors of the building. This encourages chance meetings of faculty and students from all programs.

The exterior of the building incorporates multiple textures. From warm, white terra cotta woven together with custom extruded aluminum to a full-height wall of glazed yellow terra cotta marking the main entrance and a glass stair tower. Many different textures are used to create this addition to CSU’s downtown campus.
