The Westcott House (1908) was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for industrialist Burton Westcott and is the singular example of Wright's Prairie style work in the state of Ohio. Restoration and preservation began with stabilization to save the structure, which is now an historic house museum. After decades of deterioration, meticulous preservation of existing fabric was completed to complement the recreation of missing portions of the architectural design ranging from the reflecting pool and terrace to decorative elements such as custom furniture and casework, art glass fixtures and even a birdhouse. Modern systems such as a sustainable geothermal HVAC system, plumbing, electrical, security and fire protection were also sensitively integrated into the house.
