Spanning the Little Miami River Gorge between Fort Ancient and Oregonia, Ohio, the Jeremiah Morrow Bridge is Ohio’s largest and tallest segmental bridge at 2,252 ft. long and a deck of 239 ft. above ground level. The twin spans are designed in the fashion of a box girder bridge: a bridge in which the main beams comprise girders in the shape of a hollow box that road crews can still access so that they make interior repairs if necessary. Being that this is also a segmental bridge, the Jeremiah Morrow Bridge was built in short sections that were cast-in-place. This method of engineering was used to limit the disturbance of the gorge below.
